Based in The Cotswolds, in Wotton-under-Edge, Pauline spends her time between giving regular private lessons and free-lancing as an orchestral, chamber, solo, and session musician, with performances across the South of England. Pauline Starkey is a professional violinist and violist - highly trained, vastly experienced and equally passionate about both instruments! Whilst performing for over 35 years, Pauline has given concerts across the country, including at the major London venues, and further afield across Europe, America and Canada. Simultaneously, she is a dedicated teacher of the violin, viola, piano and music theory. With many years of teaching experience, Pauline has focussed on offering one-to-one tuition for all ages and abilities, supportive of any goals and ambitions that students may have, achieving excellent results along the way. Pauline enjoys nurturing musical curiosity and talent, whilst putting people at ease, encouraging personal interpretation and expression, as well as building a solid foundation of musical knowledge, technique and effective practise methods. This passion has in recent years led her to provide day courses for string players -whether child or adult- who wish to develop their playing skills, confidence and musicianship, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. They are particularly suitable for adult learners and amateur musicians who would like chamber music experience and coaching.
